A good turn out of competitors this evening for the club ten despite the chilly temperature and heavy cloud cover, heralding rain. With very little wind, perhaps westerly, and just a little drizzle arriving at times, it didn’t feel too difficult anywhere on the course. However more or less everyone who has been riding the
tens finished in a slower time than their previous best ride, some by a large margin. Just too cold and the air too heavy I wonder.
Pete Bradshaw still managed to get under 24 minutes with 23:48 from Paul Beattie 24:14 and Peter Kucak 24:24. Further down the speed table Michael Church did a good strong ride for 28:12 (his best this year?) beating John Dainty’s 28:24, despite losing some seconds clipping in from the start, both riding a TT bike. Next fastest was Paul Furnell, coping admirably with preparing the club supper, before riding his standard road bike around the ten course in 29:00 and then serving up the food.
Most importantly congratulations to everyone involved this evening, and through the series so far, for helping to make a success of the time trials and the club evenings as a whole. Special thanks go this evening to those who stepped in at short notice to cover the marshalling points and put out the signs.
