Guest riders led the way. Not unexpectedly, near local and well known visitor, Kristian Woolf was fastest, storming around the circuit in 22:12, well ahead of Graham Dolby 23:27 - I think his first go on our club ten this year. Next was RFW’s fastest, Paul Beattie in 23:42, just ten seconds slower than his best time this year, produced at the first club Ten back in April. Perhaps Paul just needs to make a change to his training or take a few easy days before the next club ten! Only twelve seconds slower and inside 24 minutes with 23:54 was Peter Kucak, a good improvement this year. Next fastest and another to improve was Scott McCann on 24:22 ahead of Nathan Joyce on a standard road bike, going round in 24:39. Another new best for Nathan in his first year of time trialling – definitely a strong rider. Steve Wickham’s time of 25:08 gave him the best veterans ranking with a plus of 4:30.
Next Rocko’s were Simon Beesley, Tim Eaton and Harry Freeman, all finishing with new personal bests (I think!). Harry, growing stronger and faster, going well into the 25 minutes bracket with 25:41 for the first time. First timer Phil Earl was also in the 25’s with his 25:51.
Some of our more veteran riders also produced season, recent season or outright PB’s – Peter Rowbotham 28:50, Michael Harvey going very close to 30 minutes with 30:07 and a much improving John Aldridge doing 30:28 on his single speed, he must have enjoyed that.
