Here are the points awards for Overall TT, Road Bike and Vets points for this year. If you are surprised by the results (I certainly was) it is worth pointing out that, in order for your points to count you must help with marshalling etc. at least once in each series, when an average of your other points will be recorded if you have missed a ride.
The ‘secret’ of an overall win for the year is therefore a) consistent riding across the year and b) marshalling in each series.
There are many riders who did well in individual events but who did not ride consistently across the series and/or did not marshal.
I note that some riders did not help with marshalling at all during the year.
