Due to a clash with other events we were a bit short-handed for our annual inter-club hill climb between Rocko and Kettering CC, who brought superior ‘fire power’ with them. The contest consists of timed climbs of both sides of Neville Holt hill. Times are then added together and points awarded for the fastest twenty riders.
15 year old Josh Brown (KCC) was the fastest rider of the day, with Steve Coombs (RFW) in second place and Ian Day (RFW) third. Unfortunately, KCC mopped up most of the remaining points to grab the trophy by 128 points to 82.
Maria Gent (KCC) was the only woman rider, who pipped the youngest rider, 13 year old Mac Carter (RFW) into last place.
Well done to all who rode and big thanks to all marshals and helpers. Perhaps we shall win the trophy back when we hold the event next year.
