Back on the full course tonight but slower times than previous weeks, as riders find it “a slog against a headwind from Bringhurst to Medbourne”. Or “when the going gets tough the tough get going”? At the head of the results visiting youngster Josh van Nierop was just clear of the rest, in an impressive 23:40, led by his dad Hans van Nierop (Welland Valley CC), 23:47, and leading Rocko, Pete Bradshaw, 23:48. Our usual top trio (given some food for thought by the visiting duo) Pete, Paul Beattie and Peter Wilson all finishing with very close times, under 24 minutes, not so far off their best recent pace and a little ahead of Peter Kucak, 24:14, just off the pace of the top three this evening. A bit further back on time our ‘middle markers’ were perhaps more affected by the course conditions, with reports of feeling slower, albeit all still producing respectable rides. Good to see a well supported event tonight, with 21 TT’ers and a busy club supper.
