A good turn out of competitors this evening for the club ten despite the chilly temperature and heavy cloud cover, heralding rain. With very little wind, perhaps westerly, and just a little drizzle arriving at times, it didn’t feel too difficult anywhere on the course.  However more or less everyone who has been riding the ​

​​Well I don’t know what put off so many from riding the TT this evening, the chance of showers I suppose, but the thirteen who did set off were rewarded with conditions that yielded some fast times and personal bests; warm and damp with a light easterly to east southeast breeze.
 
Pete Bradshaw, nursing sore ribs, was fastest in 23:20, from Pete Wilson 23:30 and Paul Beattie 23:40.

​After last week’s club time trial when only twelve riders ventured out in worsening conditions of sleet, rain, thunder and deepening darkness, that felt like winter, tonight’s bright sunlight and blue sky was like summer even if still a little cool in the early May setting-sun and southerly breeze. This time twenty-one riders took on the valley in conditions so different that those who rode last week were anything from 

A bright and dry evening attracted a good turnout for the second ‘Ten’ of the new season.  With a north-easterly breeze, conditions looked promising for a fast night, but perhaps with the slight chill in the air and a less than perfect wind strength and direction, if you can have such a thing, results were mixed compared with last week.
 
Paul Beattie, fastest clubman last week, lost some time somewhere this week and was beaten by Pete
