Our last time trial of the season wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously. Johnny Pinkerton suggested that riders turn up in fancy dress and some people did so. Most notably, Johnny came as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and Julian Freeman looked very fetching as a Tahitian maiden, complete with grass skirt, which streamed beautifully in the wind. In spite of this, Julian put in best time of the evening, closely followed by Austin smith and Tim Eaton (all RFW). Our sole guest was 12 year old Mal Carter (WVCC), who must have thought we were all bonkers.
It was all harmless fun and a good end to the season.
My usual thanks go to all race officials and helpers and, indeed, to everyone who has supported our time trials through the season.
