Our penultimate TT of the season was a 2.8 mile Dash from Ashley to Middleton. The light was beginning to go as the riders set off, showing that the nights are beginning to draw in.
David McDade (RFW) was fastest rider with 6:31, followed by Steve Coombs (RFW) in 6:50 and Mike Prescott (RFW) third with 6:55.
Fastest road bike rider was Peter Nix (RFW) in 7:14 closely followed by a fast-improving Craig Bugby (RFW) in 7:19.

Here are the points awards for Overall TT, Road Bike and Vets points for this year. If you are surprised by the results (I certainly was) it is worth pointing out that, in order for your points to count you must help with marshalling etc. at least once in each series, when an average of your other points will be recorded if you have missed a ride.
The ‘secret’ of an overall win for the year is therefore a) consistent riding across the year and b) marshalling in each series.
 
There are many riders who did well in individual events but who did not ride consistently across the series and/or did not marshal.
​I note that some riders did not help with marshalling at all during the year.

We had good weather for the last of our evening ‘tens’ – sunny, with little wind.
Guest rider Thomas Spain (unattached) put in fastest time of the day with 24:59, followed by Steve Coombs (RFW) with 26:12 and Neill Howarth (RFW) in 27:52.
Graeme Hall (RFW) decided to ride a two-speed Brompton but still managed 28:37.
John Aldridge (RFW) unluckily punctured but still managed to ride in on a flat rear tubular.

A nice warm evening, but with a blustery wind attracted a moderate field of twelve riders. Graeme Hall (RFW) managed to log fastest time of the evening of 24:25 in spite of being stopped with rider 1 by a combine harvester for about a minute. One of the joys of a rural course!
David McDade (RFW) came in second with 26:20 and Steve Coombs (RFW), in spite of a slow puncture, in 26:40.
Fastest road bike was Peter Nix (RFW) in 28:39.

The weather was rather overcast and blustery, which did not promise that any records would be broken or PBs set. In spite of that Will Deeley (RFW) finished in 22:59, beating Graeme Hall (RFW) into second place with 23:57, followed by Paul Beattie (RFW) with 24:01.
Fastest road bike was guest Jack Pinchin (Velo Elite), with 26:58 but Peter Nix (RFW) picked up the club road bike points with 28:40.
Newcomer Craig Bugby (RFW) was the last rider under 30 minutes, with a time of 29:51.
