The third of our 15 miler evening TTs was an optional 2-up event, which was taken up by only two pairs. The rest chose to ride as ‘solos’.
Julian Freeman (RFW) posted fastest time of the evening with 39:09, followed by David Wilson (RFW 2ndclaim) in 40:02. The pairing of Graeme Hall and Sean Adamson ( both RFW) came third with 40:44.
Mac Carter and Huw Wilson paired up to finish in a creditable 49:01.
John Aldridge (54:05) was definitely last on his ‘tin can special’, fitted with 3-speed hub gear. He reflected on finishing that many riders would have covered 25 miles in the time that he took to ride 15. All good fun!

We had a really good turnout for our annual Inter-Club time trial with Welland Valley and, this year, managed to regain the trophy by a margin of one point.
Tim Smith (WVCC) posted F.T.D. but was followed by Will Deeley, Paul Beattie and Graeme Hall (RFW) who scooped the rest of the high points. The result of 27-28 to RFW was as close as it could be.
Well done to all who rode and a big thank you to everyone who helped to make the evening a success.

Everybody else wimped out at the weather last night, but 14 year-old Mac Carter put them all to shame when he turned up to ride.
In the event he elected to ride a ‘10’ and came in at 33:20. Not his best time but he did it and that’s the thing. Well done Mac – full points.

A pleasantly warm, though overcast evening attracted a field of thirteen riders, including some guests for the second of our 15 mile TTs.
Graeme Hall (RFW) was fastest with 36:05, with Paul Beattie (RFW) in 36:23 and Mark Weatherby (KCC) in 37:44.
Julian Freeman (RFW) was fastest road bike with 38:48, beating some of the TT bikes.
Sadly, Mac Carter didn’t finish, but there’s always next week.
It was good to see Alex and William Wise (WVCC) putting in a decent time on their tandem – see this week’s photo.
