It was a pretty filthy evening and so we only had five hard men who turned up to ride in the first of our 15 miler TTs.
Graeme Hall (RFW) managed 37:09, well ahead of David McDade (RFW) with 41:45 and Steve Coombs with 41:52.
On road bikes, Mac Carter rode a 48:48, beating Michael Church with 49:26.
 
My usual thanks go to all those who turned up to assist. In the end I think we had more helpers than riders.
I have to confess to an error in last week’s report – it was actually Eileen who cooked the meal (thanks Eileen), rather than Norman.

It was a very pleasant evening with not much wind, but we only had ten riders competing for the last of our Spring ‘Tens’.
Paul Beattie  (RFW) was on form, posting a time of 23:21, with Steve Coombs following at 26:30 and Mick Prescott (RFW) close behind with 26:50.
Fastest road bike was Bruce Ayliffe (RFW) in 27:58, with Pete Rowbotham (RFW) coming in at 28:22.
All riders were RFW members – what’s happened to riders from the other local clubs?

Traffic lights on the course meant that we needed to split the start / finish and shorten the course to 9.1 miles. 
Fatherhood seems to have suited Paul Beattie (RFW), who came in first with 21:59 with Graham Hall (RFW) and Pete Bradshaw (F6B2) both in 22:12.
Fastest road bike was Bruce Ayliffe (RFW) with 26:17. It goes to show what a difference a good aero position makes.

There was no TT last week, as we only had three entries due to the weather. This week wasn’t much better, but a dry evening did attract six riders.
Not surprisingly, Steve Coombs (RFW) was fastest on his TT bike, with 26:08 but Andy Carter (RFW) managed 27:52 on a road bike and newcomer Tom Reynolds (unattached) did a very creditable 28:37.
Young Mac Carter (RFW) was very pleased with a PB of 29:49 – watch out Dad!
