Next week is the Inter-Club 25 mile time trial competition, us against Welland Valley CC – they currently hold the Inter- Club Trophy for scoring the
most points last year. The fastest ten riders score from 10 to 1 for first to tenth place – we need to pack a few good rides in to win back the trophy…..
But even if you don’t think you are that fast, why not have a go, 2.5 laps of our course and finish back at the clubhouse in time for some simple barbeque burgers and hot dogs cooked by Pete Jinks.
There are long standing club trophies to be won:
The McLeod Challenge Cup – for the fastest club member outright.
The Roberts Trophy – for fastest club member based on their handicap taken from the recent club ten mile times or other most recent times – so the best improving rider.
The Eskdale Novice Trophy – for the fastest club rider who hasn’t been placed in any open event.
The Ladies Novice Trophy – as above for the ladies if we have any competing?
There’s also the Adams Ladies 25 Trophy – for the fastest lady member in any open or club 25 mile time trial.
So come and have a go!
Club ‘Tens’ resume again on the 29th June, 7:15pm, with the Summer Series of 10 events. We will be need some marshals and someone to organise the after event supper. I hope you can join in.
