Well, 2020 has been a mess, hasn't it!?  As there have been (and are likely to be) only a few events organised by the club, the committee have decided to reduce membership fees to £15 for anyone joining in 2020 from July.  

We also decided to try and entice some of the new cyclists into the club with a social-only membership for £10.

If you've already paid for your 2020 membership in full, don't worry; you will be given next year's membership at half price.

We are again hosting ‘Round One’ of the Northampton & District Cycling Association time trial series, on the 18.7 miles version of our Middleton course. Normally held on the second Saturday in April the event has been brought forward to avoid conflict with traffic from local events. We normally have 70-100 entries; I hope this early date won’t put off too many.
Again we need lots of help for the event – approximately 20 people including around 15 marshals, plus a holder-up at the start, somebody to help the finish timekeeper, someone to collect the finish times, help in the canteen, help with signing on, help with the results, and MOST IMPORTANTLY a few people to make some CAKES for the canteen.
The N&DCA TT Series http://www.northamptondca.org.uk/events 
is a great opportunity to experience short and medium distance time trialling on safe courses around our district and enjoy some friendly competition with riders from the association clubs. There are overall and category prizes for juveniles, juniors, ladies, seniors and masters age groups in each event and for a season long points championship open to association club members of which we are one. So far we have three entries from Rocko’s : Julian Freeman, John Dainty and Michael Harvey.

We will be getting new kit designed for 2019, and we want you to design it! 
We want to stick to the same basic colours, yellow with neutral white/grey/black, but beyond that we don't have any limits.  If you fancy being creative, please let Chris have your design by the end of November.  Designs accepted on paper or by computer file (jpeg or pdf please).

After that the Committee will choose a short list that all members will then vote on.  The design that get the most votes will be our club kit for the next few years.

Next Sunday 17th Sep sees the first round of the Leicestershire Cyclocross League, hosted by RFW at Weldon Woodland Park in Corby.  As usual, we'll be be looking for volunteers to marshal the event.  The event runs from 9:00 (with riders warming up), first race at 10:15 through to the last race at 14:00.  Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, however little.  The race promises to be fast and furious and will definitely be a joy to watch

RFW are helping with a major event on 9th September at ​Sawtry by providing the catering for the National Youth Championship Final 10 mile TT event. 
Pete Jinks is coordinating and he needs cakes baked and canteen volunteers to spare a little time to help boost the club coffers.   Contact Pete on peter-jinks@sky.com to offer assistance.
