This week's club ride had a different option for members to consider, with an off-road/gravel route being added to steady and faster road routes. I took the steadier group, along with a new member and Phil, which worked well after the Thursday evening chain gang had ripped off my legs! John took the gravel route (see separate post), and a good time was had by all. A dozen riders had shared themselves between the ride groups, and the weather was again glorious, after a cool start. All riders met outside at Café Ventoux in Tugby, along with some long-serving members who made their own way there.
On the way back we took the farm road from Crackbottle Lane up to Goadby Lane and then on another rather bumpy bridleway across the fields to Cranoe, then back home on the usual roads. All very enjoyable in a masochistic way - I was exhausted! John Aldridge
Three ride groups enjoyed the sunny (if chilly) April morning to follow separate routes to Cafe Oak at Geddington. Several potential or new members joined the groups, and it was great to ride with these new faces. It made me realise just how much socialising we have lost over the last few months, and I, for one, can't wait for that to change in the near future!
Club Captain 2021.
I'm a keen cyclist, but my fitness doesn't quite match my ambitions!
I look for interesting rides, and try and encourage good group ride etiquette.
We ensure that nobody gets dropped on rides.
