🎊  Clubhouse 50th Anniversary Open Day / Weekend  🎉

Rockingham Forest Wheelers celebrate 50 years in their Middleton clubhouse this year. The cycling club that was established in 1950 and moved to their current home in 1971, will mark the occasion by holding an Open Day weekend on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July 2022.

The club has a proud history of achievement in cycle racing and in the organisation of cycle racing and many of its members still regularly compete in time trial racing, road, cyclo-cross, mountain bike and track races. For many members though it’s all about the regular weekly social club riding and social nights in the clubhouse throughout the year. There`s something for everyone.

Club members and volunteers will be on hand to provide help and information to any budding new cyclists, or former cyclists, looking to get back on two wheels and they will be pleased to provide information on all of the cycling activities carried out at the club from short leisure rides and beginning the road to fitness using static bikes to competitive cycling in the velodrome.

A warm welcome awaits all the weekend`s visitors.

Opening hours for the weekend:

Who will be joining us to help us celebrate:

Visiting cycling clubs, local walkers and the public can expect a range of hot food, snacks, great coffee and other refreshments between 9am and 4pm which can be enjoyed in one of their newly refurbished club rooms or outside in the sun if the weather is kind.
Regular cyclists visiting will enjoy the clubs collection of cycling memorabilia scattered around the clubhouse and could quite possibly meet up with some old acquaintances from other clubs.

Also, following on from her successful solo show at the Canon Gallery in Oundle in April, local artist Maxine Dodd will be exhibiting her cycling art throughout the weekend.
